I have been using OggSync 4.20 with Windows XP/Outlook 2007 for a few weeks now. It works as advertised and I'm not having any real trouble. One suggestion, I would like to have some indicator, maybe a blinking thing in the system try, that would show what OggSync is doing, if anything. For example, is it communicating with Google, or modifying Outlook files, or something else?

Once in a while I noticed my CPU usage jumping up to 100% and staying there for a long time. The Windows task manager shows that OggSync and Outlook are the CPU hogs when that happens. Each of those applications jumps around 40-50% CPU use. It stops after 3-5 minutes and everything seems normal after that.

I almost rebooted my computer the first time this happened. But then I realized that OggSync my be writing to my Outlook files. Which brings up a question. Would I trash my Outlook data if the computer is shut down while OggSync is working?

I use Outlook for my business and personal contacts. Categories in Outlook are a must for me. I know Google supports Groups. Are there any plans to map the Categories in Contacts with Groups on Google?

One key Outlook field that doesn't seem to be supported is category (multiple categories per contact record allowed in Outlook). Google also seems to support multiple "groups" per contact. But OggSync doesn't? Please clarify. Thanks!

Gmail just added a feature (though it's only appearing for some at the moment) called "Suggested Contacts". Along with this feature is the ability to prevent Gmail from automatically adding everyone you email to your "My Contacts." They will reside under "Suggested Contacts." It seems that if OggSync can distunguish between "My Contacts" and "Suggested Contacts", the "Only Sync Contacts with Names" and "Only Sync Contacts with Numbers" options are not needed...

[OggSync: June 9th bug fix release of 4.19 Mobile is the active beta download. This fixes a bug keeping calendars from syncing initially, as well as a fix for some internal contact picture handling.]

I'm running into the same issue with oggsync duplicating events on my google calendar...Is there anyway to fix this?

[OggSync: If you are getting duplicates with every sync, that is a bug and that shouldn't be happening, please contact support@oggsync.com. If you got duplicates with your first sync, you can back out the sync by unchecking your calendars and syncing again. Then you can clean one side or the other of appointments and sync again. Best to start with one clean side until the "reset" feature is out.]

There is a bug in version 1.19 mobile if you are getting 0/0 when trying to sync from Google, make a minor change in one of the Google calendar entries and the calendar should sync.

Seems like you could just have it sync using the internet connection on the mobile device.

[OggSync: You can use any internet connection to sync. Wifi, G3, EVDO, etc. but you do need to be able to see the internet. There are reports of some limited wap type plans not working. If they don't support SSL and you cannot surf to https://oggsync.com, you may have problems over that connection.]

Got this running over the weekend. It's amazing! I've been waiting forever for Gmail contact sync to come along and you guys nailed it. The only problem I ran into was it decided to duplicate all my appointments on my first sync after uninstalling the old version and installing the new. Took a little while to clean up, but I got it taken care of. Keep up the great work. I can't wait for the final release with (hopefully) auto sync on Contacts.

[OggSync: 4.19 is getting very close with contacts. We are working on a "reset" feature that will hopefully address your issue. If you had synced by some other method prior, OggSync will likely not identify the appointments as matches and will "duplicate" them as it syncs the non-matched appointments in both directions (makes a copy of the outlook appointment on Google and vice versa.)]
