Apple iPhone and Non-Windows Mobile Phone Synchronization Guide

It is not currently possible to create a native client for the Apple iPhone (possible in Q1 2008 once Apple opens up the platform) we recommend using the OggSync Pro for Outlook described below to synchronize your iPhone with your Google account.

This setup uses iTunes to synchronize iPhone or iPod with the Outlook client on your desktop which is synchronized with Google using OggSync for Outlook.

The basic steps involved are as follows:

  • Setup OggSync for Outlook plugin to connect to your Google account.
  • Setup iTunes to connect to the Outlook client on your desktop.
  • Use iTunes to synchronize your iPhone with Outlook, synchronizing your Google data to your device.

iPhone/iPod/iTunes Synchronization Configuration

Configure iTunes to synchronize with your Outlook client by checking the “Sync Calendars with [Outlook]” setting in the Info tab.

When you connect your iPhone to your desktop it should automatically synchronize with your Outlook client.

All you need to do is ensure that you have synchronized Outlook with your Google account and you will have all of your Google Calendar information synchronized to your iPhone or other Mobile Phone.

An OggSync Pro account will enable access to all clients including any future clients as they are available.

Blackberry/other phone Synchronization Configuration

Configure ActiveSync to synchronize with your phone as normal, then Use the outlook plugin to synchronize with Google.
